Kaiyi Automobile was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Yibin, Sichuan Province. It is the first vehicle manufacturing state-owned enterprise in Sichuan to hold production qualifications for sedans, SUVs, and MPVs, as well as both new energy and conventional fuel vehicles.
The brand originated as a Chery project and relocated to Yibin in 2017, forming a shareholder structure of "Chery technology + Wuliangye capital + local state assets". Its products cover the Kunlun, Xuanjie, and Shiyue series with pure electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and it has established technical cooperation with Huawei, Tencent, and CATL.
