On June 1, the Duku Highway—hailed as “one of China’s most beautiful highways”—officially reopened to traffic along its entire length. As the sole official lead vehicle for the “2026 Duku Highway Reopening Ceremony,” the GEELY Galaxy M9 was the first to drive along this 561-kilometer scenic route, which stretches from the northern to the southern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains, providing support for the event with the capabilities of a flagship model.

The Duku Highway connects Dushanzi in Xinjiang with Kuche, traversing diverse landscapes including snow-capped mountains, gorges, grasslands, and forests along the way. It is renowned for its unique scenery, characterized by the saying, “Four seasons in a day; the weather changes every ten li.” Serving as the lead vehicle for the opening ceremony not only demonstrates the reliability of the GEELY Galaxy M9 but also showcases the achievements of the synergistic development between China’s automotive manufacturing and national infrastructure construction.

Following the opening ceremony, the GEELY Galaxy M9 convoy ventured deep into the Bayinbuluke Grasslands to conduct all-terrain road testing. In a cold, oxygen-deprived environment at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, as well as under complex conditions such as unpaved roads, steep slopes, and gravel roads, the vehicles underwent comprehensive testing of their powertrain performance, off-road capability, handling stability, and comfort.

In terms of powertrain, the GEELY Galaxy M9 is equipped with a distributed three-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering a combined power output of 640 kW and peak torque of 1,165 N·m. Even at high altitudes, the electric drive system maintains stable power delivery, providing the vehicle with excellent acceleration and hill-climbing capabilities.

When facing cross-axle situations, muddy roads, and complex off-road environments, the vehicle demonstrates strong off-road capability thanks to its high torque output and intelligent all-wheel-drive control system. At the same time, the dual-chamber air suspension, continuously variable damping system, and intelligent road condition prediction function further enhance ride comfort on unpaved roads.

In terms of handling performance, the GEELY Galaxy M9 features a double-wishbone front suspension paired with a five-link rear suspension, complemented by a vehicle dynamics control system that effectively enhances stability on consecutive curves and complex road conditions. Additionally, innovative steering technology further enhances the large SUV’s agility on narrow roads.

As a six-seat flagship SUV designed for family users, the GEELY Galaxy M9 also excels in terms of space, comfort, range, and smart features. The vehicle features a spacious and flexible six-seat layout that meets the needs of various scenarios, including family outings, camping, and long-distance travel.

In terms of powertrain, the new model is equipped with the Thor EM hybrid system, achieving a balance between low fuel consumption, long range, and high performance. The combined driving range can exceed 1,500 kilometers, providing ample assurance for long-distance road trips.

Regarding safety, the GEELY Galaxy M9 features a high-strength body structure and is equipped with comprehensive active and passive safety systems, offering reliable protection in areas such as collision safety, battery safety, and protection under extreme conditions.

In terms of smart features, the vehicle is equipped with the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit system and an AI assistant, enabling functions such as voice interaction, navigation planning, and entertainment control to deliver a more convenient travel experience for users.
